Elger Esser: Mont-Saint-Michel

For his third solo exhibition at RX&SLAG Paris, German photographer Elger Esser presents a series on Mont-Saint-Michel. The result of a residency at the Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel in 2022 and 2023, the 18 photographs on display explore the rocky fortress, its mysterious mazes, and bewitching landscapes. A student of the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf and the Bechers, the Franco-German photographer has been criss-crossing France, its coasts, and regions for 30 years, composing a portrait of the country and its landscapes.
