Erwin Wurm: Photographs
A unique exhibtion by Erwin Wurm, the "sculptor" of his photographs
Austrian artist Erwin Wurm presents his latest solo show “Photographs”. Wurm is internationally renowned for his conceptual work that merge sculpture, performance, video, drawings and photographs, in which he associates mischievousness and a deep sense of the absurd.
His work questions with irony and skepticism our relationship with our body, and draws the spectator into a paradoxical relationship with the surrounding objects.
His photographs are characterised by a strong physical presence, and have been called by the artist himself “photographic sculptures”. Gathering over 200 shots taken during the 1980s, this exhibition displays major works from the artist’s personal archive, which haven’t been shown to public yet. Among the displayed works, Wurm will exhibit also inedit shots taken on purpose for this exhibition.
