Eva Nielsen: Opsine

The Pill presents a new series of works by Eva Nielsen. Moving between landscape, architecture and abstraction, Nielsen transforms photographic imagery through silkscreen, airbrush and oil, creating atmospheric spaces in which familiar forms become fragmented. Nielsen focuses on the interstitial zones of suburbia as liminal spaces and remnants of utopian projections. Her subjects include obstructed landscapes, empty playgrounds, fragments of infrastructure and abandoned homes. Combining screenprinting with oil, acrylic and ink, Nielsen’s process involves fragmentation, concealment and revelation, resulting in images that bring together multiple narratives and temporalities.
