Curated by Pharrell Williams and hosted by Emmanuel Perrotin’s Paris gallery, this exhibition builds on their past collaborations, including the 2008 design show “Perspectives”, which introduced Pharrell to Perrotin’s world and sparked artistic exchanges with Takashi Murakami, Laurent Grasso, Sophie Calle, and Daniel Arsham. It also follows the success of the 2014 group show “G I R L” at Perrotin Paris, inspired by Pharrell’s album of the same name.

Black women are central to Williams’ creative inspiration, and their multifaceted representation forms the foundation of “Femmes”. Featuring artists of African descent across generations, the exhibition brings together Perrotin’s roster—Leslie Hewitt, Alex Gardner, Tavares Strachan, Chiffon Thomas, Katia St. Hilaire, and Nina Chanel Abney—alongside artists from over fifteen galleries.

At its core, “Femmes” is a celebration, creating space for cultural shifts. It honours artists—these “Soldiers of Love”-—who shape the world through their craft. With a deep commitment to artistic expression, Williams and Perrotin invite us into a constellation of creativity, where humanity remains at the centre.
