Fiona Banner: Heart Of Darkness

For this exhibition at mfc-michèle didier gallery, Fiona Banner investigates on the slippage between object, image and text through graphic and editorial works. On view, a selection of publications from the artist’s imprint as “The Vanity Press“ ( 1997) .
Inspired by Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness” (1899), in which the author denounces the horror and hostility of colonialism, the artist follows the narrative structure as space for criticism.
