Hommage à Christian Bérard

Located in the heart of the Matignon Saint-Honoré district, Galleria Continua / Paris Matignon dedicates this exhibition to the universe of Christian Bérard, a seminal figure of the 20th-century art scene. Conceived by Carlo Falciani, the project unfolds around a dialogue between a 17th-century grotesque marble head, once part of Bérard’s personal collection, and contemporary works by artists represented by the gallery. Surrounding the sculpture works by Juan Araujo, Jean Cocteau, Jonathas de Andrade, Eva Jospin and others, with some pieces specially conceived for the occasion. Together, they create a sensitive bridge between the artistic and existential questions of Bérard’s time and those of today.
