Ivan Moudov: First, Admit You Have a Problem
The solo exhibition by Ivan Moudov challenges the rules of the contemporary art scenario, proposing a healing programme for collectors.
The solo exhibition by Ivan Moudov is part of his ongoing research, willing to defy and deconstruct traditional codes of the art world. “First, Admit You Have a Problem“ revolves around a healing programme for art dealers and collectors, main actors of the fast producing and consuming art world.
Inspired by this problem, Moudov created the Collectors Anonymous (CA) – a mutual aid system to help collectors to recognize their obsession and give up collecting as intended in the contemporary art scenario. The healing programme consists of a series of anonymous group meetings, occurring every Tuesday at 6 pm for the duration of the show.
Besides introducing these sessions, “First, Admit You Have a Problem” consists of a series of “energetic” paintings to facilitate the process of recovery and a complete homeopathic program, developed by the artists in collaboration with Dr. Ivaylo Dimitrov, a psychiatrist and homeopath specialized in addictions and substance dependencies.
