Jonathas de Andrade: Le Syndicat des Olympiades
As part of La Métropolitaine, the international contemporary art event of the Métropole du Grand Paris, in collaboration with TRAM, the contemporary art network of Paris and Île-de-France, La Galerie—Noisy-le-Sec’s national contemporary art center—presents Brazilian artist Jonathas de Andrade. He introduces “Le Syndicat des Olympiades (The Olympiad Syndicate)”, an inclusive, participatory project involving local organizations from Noisy-le-Sec.
Through photography, video, and performance, de Andrade explores the architectural, social, and cultural impact of the Olympic Games, while reflecting on the diverse landscapes and people who shape this area every day. During the exhibition, La Galerie transforms into the headquarters for this unique syndicate, showcasing a collection of works—including photographic portraits, a film, an architectural model, and various objects—created specifically for this occasion. These works highlight and celebrate the lives of local residents as well as sports fans from all walks of life and ages.
