A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Alexandre Diop’s approach is between painting and sculpture, his creations combine different kinds of materials from everyday life. Related to the Italian arte povera movement, Diop’s work also explores the theme of African-American identity and is in line with artists such as his mentor Kehinde Wiley.
