Mandy El-Sayegh: Figure One

In her first solo exhibition at the gallery, Mandy El-Sayegh takes over the Paris Marais art space to create an immersive experience encompassing painting, sound, and multimedia installations.

Featuring over twenty new works from the artist’s series, the exhibition will investigate abstraction, material, and systems of knowledge production to reveal paintings as layered and complex cultural bodies.

The artist brings together diagrams of magic tricks, images are taken from 1980s anatomy books, poems, news items, and advertisements to form the grounds for her paintings. Through these collections of fragments, she reveals the complex personal, collective, and often violent histories that underpin the creation and circulation of artworks.
