Marina De Caro: Avant la forme, j’écoute les plaintes
Argentinian artist Marina De Caro (b. 1961) inhabits the world as a painter, draughtswoman, dancer, knitter, teacher and performer. Constantly reinventing space, she amplifies it through unfamiliar gestures that free geometry from rigidity. Her multidisciplinary practice spans drawing, sculpture and performance, creating a colourful, sensitive and poetic universe where intuition and emotion guide form.
De Caro develops mobile sculptures designed to interact directly with viewers, transforming them into participants or interpreters. These works open unpredictable dimensions within everyday life, destabilising conventions and inviting audiences into playful encounters with space and the body.
Through this approach, she pushes back the limits of the expected, making visible what vibrates, invigorates and disrupts habit. Her art proposes a shift from normative frameworks to experiences of surprise, movement and resonance, affirming the body and imagination as central agents in redefining perception.
