Martial Cherrier: Body Ergo Sum

Maison Européenne de la Photographie – MEP presents “Body Ergo Sum”, an exhibition featuring the work by the artist and bodybuilder Martial Cherrier, questioning the meaning of the images that structured his body and imagination. Through a presentation of his history and in the form of a self-portrait, this exhibit takes us into his very peculiar world: Martial Cherrier is now trying to put it all back together, using the vintage imagery of his youth, his body as it was, free of any fake nostalgia, and exploring the relationship between the perfect body – or its imperfections– and its representation.
