The exhibition “Frequencies“ at Galerie Alberta Pane, Paris, is the third solo presentation by the Italian artist Michelangelo Penso at the gallery. His interactive sculpture “Human vibe” – namely a small meteorite-like mineral object capturing vibrations through a system of touch sensors and turning them into sound frequencies – is on display alongside a series of prints on aluminium, rubber and wood.

Penso’s research is inspired by the iconography of scientific disciplines, planetary systems and industrial settings. In this work, he investigates the relations between human bodies and technological systems, inviting visitors to interact with the sculptural object and to pay attention to the small reverberations of their movements in the space.
