Nathanaëlle Herbelin
Jousse Entreprise presents the third solo exhibition of Franco-Israeli artist Nathanaëlle Herbelin (b. 1989), who lives and works in Paris. Herbelin’s painting bridges the intimate and the political, the personal and the universal. Each work arises from lived events or relationships, revealing specific contexts without distorting them. Her distinctive forms and colours explore nuances and connections between subjects, where invention and observation dissolve into one another.
Since 2011 based in Paris, Herbelin earned her master’s degree from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in 2016, and in 2015 attended the Cooper Union in New York. Her practice has gained wide institutional recognition: in 2024 she presented a solo exhibition at the Musée d’Orsay in dialogue with the Nabi collection. Other solo exhibitions have been held at venues including Emmanuel Barbault Gallery (New York, 2019), George V Art Centre (Beijing, 2020), Umm el-Fahem Gallery (Palestine, 2021), Jousse Entreprise (Paris, 2021), Yishu 8 (Paris, 2021), Xavier Hufkens (Brussels, 2023/2025), He Art Museum (Foshan, 2025), and Hôtel de Guise (France).
Herbelin’s work has also been shown in group exhibitions at Bozar (Brussels, 2024–2025), Villa Sauber (Monaco, 2025), MO.CO. (Montpellier, 2023), MASC (Les Sables-d’Olonne, 2023), Musée Estrine (Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, 2023), Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dole (2023), Mucem (Marseille, 2022), Fondation Pernod Ricard (Paris, 2017 and 2022), Bétonsalon (Paris, 2019) and Collection Lambert (Avignon, 2017).
Her works are held in numerous collections, including Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes, Musée de l’Abbaye Sainte-Croix, CNAP (Paris), Frac Champagne-Ardenne, Frac Auvergne, S.M.A.K. (Ghent), Lafayette Anticipations, Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris, and the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam).
