New Utopias in the Digital Age

Centquatre – Paris, 5 Rue Curial, 75019

“New Utopias in the Digital Age”, part of “Némo” – International Biennial of Digital Arts of the Île-de-France Region, examines how digital technologies reshape imagination and perception. Presenting around thirty works, the exhibition highlights illusion as a speculative and poetic tool, capable of probing both past and future forms of utopia.

From immersive paintings that burst into song, to plants generating images, to voices transforming into landscapes, the works push the limits of reality and invent alternate worlds where humans, machines and nature cohabit. Between science and myth, memory and data, the artists create hybrid spaces oscillating between nostalgia and speculation, reviving illusions once thought lost.

Through this exploration, New Utopias in the Digital Age suggests that utopia is not a distant promise but an unstable, transformative condition, revealed by the digital realm and deeply embedded in our present experience.
