Nina Childress: Casting

Art : Concept presents Nina Childress’s second solo exhibition. Passionate about cinema and its icons, the artist has conceived a series of paintings brought together under the title Casting. Continuing her technical explorations, Nina Childress makes use of iridescent pigments and Colorstream to create moving scenes and portraits that question the nature of looking and the position of the viewer. The latter becomes an actor in their own perception of the image, as the colors shift subtly with their movements before the canvas. Cinematic framings, off-screen effects, and striking expressions evoke the world of the big screen.
