Nino Kapanadze: inertia
Intuition, atmosphere and sensitivity to light are central to Nino Kapanadze’s approach to painting. Her practice moves between figuration and abstraction, exploring themes of consciousness, memory, presence and disappearance. Her works combine intimate subjects with expansive compositions, allowing viewers to engage with them through visual and sensory experience.
Kapanadze’s paintings often depict figures, scenes and environments through layered surfaces and atmospheric compositions. Rather than presenting clearly defined narratives, they bring together fragments and impressions. Transparency and light brushwork create a sense of depth and movement, while forms appear to shift between definition and dissolution. The resulting compositions explore the relationship between material forms, light and space.
