Özgür Karopen: Macabre

The Foundation Louis Vuitton is hosting the artist Özgür Kar with the exhibition Macabre, his first solo show in a French museum, on the occasion of the FIAC art fair.

Macabre is an audiovisual installation, inspired by popular representations, conceived as a game with two characters: a boy playing the clarinet and an allegory of death.
The protagonists engage in a dialogue between life and death, balancing the amusing and the obscure.

Özgür Kar‘s work was conceived during the pandemic and is the artist’s response to the serious and worrying situation that afflicted the whole world, inviting us to reflect on life and death.
