Robert Wilson: Glass Works
Laffanour-Galerie Downtown, Paris, will host an exhibition titled “Glass Works” by Robert Wilson, on view from October 21 through November 5, 2016.
The exhibition will bring together a selection of glass artworks developed and realized by Robert Wilson from 1994 through 2003, at the Center International de Researche sur le Verre et les Arts plastiques (CIRVA), Marseille.
Wilson is an American theatre director who is often described as world’s foremost avant-garde theatre artist. But he was passionate about glass, and wanted to try his hands on it. For 10 years, he kept attending workshops at CIRVA, in stages, sometimes for a day or two, sometimes for a week. All the 77 vases he created at CIRVA, is the expression of his idea which conveyed what connected him so strongly to ceramics and glass. These vases are expressions of a particular moment of light. Some are without any color, and in some of them different reflections of lights like the halo of moon or a light fog can be visible.
