Sophie Kovel: Demos

Petrine presents "Demos", Sophie Kovel’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. "Demos" continues Kovel’s exploration of SCIFs (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities). Through installation and photography, she examines the limits of public understanding of restricted infrastructures and the challenges of representing them. Her practice considers the economic, social, aesthetic and ideological structures of nationalism. Her projects explore the relationship between aesthetics and power, examining the written and visual systems of statecraft and their connections to corporate structures and diplomacy.
