Tamara Kostianovsky: The Flesh of the World

Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, 62, rue des Archives, 75003 Paris

With subtlety and force, Tamara Kostianovsky explores complex themes such as memory, violence, colonisation, the evanescence of life, and the connections between the human body and nature. Her work as a sculptor is expressed in installations that use unusual materials, including used clothing and discarded textiles, to examine ideas related to the fragility of existence and the relationship between flesh and our environment. She creates true trompe l’oeil pieces of striking yet deceptive beauty, where the work oscillates between fascination and repulsion.
