The Portrait of Lia Rodrigues
For its 50th edition, the Festival d’Automne à Paris features a Portrait of Brazilian dancer and choreographer Lia Rodrigues, a major figure on the international choreographic scene.
The Fondation d’entreprise Hermès is supporting this rich programme, which includes a selection of works chosen by Rodrigues by choreographers with whom she has worked over the years. This Portrait promises to be intense, generous and socially engaged, reflecting Rodrigues’ work as an artist and as founder of the Escola Livre de Dança da Maré in Rio de Janeiro.
The Portrait of Lia Rodrigues thus includes a constellation of pieces by Brazilian artists, to be presented across the Paris region. Calixto Neto, Marcelo Evelin, Volmir Cordeiro, Marcela Levi, Cristina Moura, Ana Pi, Renata Carvalho and Gabriela Carneiro da Cunha have all undertaken singular artistic journeys from Brazil to the international scene, and Rodrigues invites us to (re)discover their work through this rich collective programme.
