Tomasz Machciński: American Dream, I Made It All Because of You

In collaboration with the Tomasz Machciński Foundation, the Christian Berst Art Brut Gallery hosts the first solo exhibition of Tomasz Machciński, showcasing his self-portraits spanning five decades of his previously private artistic journey. Machciński’s life has been shaped by the American dream and his pursuit of two profound illusions: the enchantment of the screen and the search for maternal love. His connection with Hollywood actress Joan Tompkins began when she, having seen a Red Cross catalog featuring Tomasz as a war orphan, adopted him from a distance. Their bond, initiated through letters and photos, transcended boundaries and marked his life forever.
