Organised by La Gaîté Lyrique and The Eyes, the exhibition celebrates the possibility of a trans, plural, and emancipatory gaze. About fifteen trans artists use photography and video to invent new ways of identifying themselves or, on the contrary, evolving beyond categorizations. Too often caricatured, these artists take control of their own image, going beyond an aesthetic of body transformation. It is in this context of rising intolerance that the Gaîté Lyrique – Fabrique de l’époque has decided to partner with the photographic magazine The Eyes to give a voice to those who shape the present and to make visible narratives at the forefront of societal demands.
