This group exhibition – featuring Lutz Bacher, Christelle Oyiri, Martine Syms, Victor Unwin, Alan Vega, and curated by Simon Gerard – sets out to show how artworks gain political and poetic force when conceived as conceptual traps. These works are not what they initially appear to be. Their surface simplicity, the seeming clarity of what they say or imply, hides a deeper resonance—leaning toward metaphysics, poetry, and meditation.

Rather than presenting political messages in a straightforward manner, the works create a tension between seduction and resistance. Their potential misinterpretation acts as both a protection and a threshold, compelling the viewer to slow down and accept that what appears obvious is, in fact, layered and complex.

By placing the emphasis on what resists direct transmission, the exhibition opens a space for critical thinking and imaginative reflection. It demonstrates how seduction can tempt, but also mislead, and how meaning emerges only when the viewer chooses to linger, to question, and to allow uncertainty to guide perception.
