Robert Mapplethorpe

The large-scale retrospective dedicated to the work of Robert Mapplethorpe at Serralves Museum in Porto, is the first one ever dedicated in Portugal to this iconic photographer of the twentieth century.

Conceived in partnership with the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, New York,  the show presents an overview of his pioneering career, featuring some of his most famous pictures from his studio portraits to still life photos and erotic nudes, as well as assemblages from his early career and intimate polaroids.
