Bohuslav Reynek: Reynek Petrkov! Petrkov! Petrkov!
A tribute to the significant role of this artist's oeuvre in twentieth-century Czech art
Galerie Zdeněk Sklenář in Prague hosts a solo exhibition dedicated to Bohuslav Reynek‘s famous prints since the gallery owns the most extensive set of originals from the artist’s legacy.
“Reynek Petrkov! Petrkov! Petrkov!” takes its name from Reynek’s hometown, where he spent most of his life and produced the majority of his works. These locations and the surrounding countryside appear often in the artist’s prints.
The exhibition path alternates these traditional images, with Reynek’s rare still-lifes and the prints representing biblical scenes, such as his “Pieta”, the main highlight of the event.
