Josef Achrer: No Sleeps in the Forest
A solo exhibition featuring paintings and photograms by the artist
The solo show by Josef Achrer features a body of work dedicated to an entirely new artistic position in his art. Known for his exploration of the relationship between information and data in current society, now Achrer dedicates a series of paintings to the theme of looking for a refuge in a tropical forest in the effort to find lost serenity and oneself.
The paintings stand out for their vivid colours and traditional techniques. On view also a never-before-seen series of larger photograms obtained with a technique previously used by Man Ray and László Moholy-Nagy. Archer readapts it in new painterly respect, intending photography in its literary meaning of drawing with light.
