Gazua #945

Gazua means any lock-pick tool which serves to open locked doors and padlocks. Gazua comes as a platform which brings together artists and people involved in other production areas. The goals are to promote rapid access to exhibition spaces and unconventional spaces in Rio de Janeiro and to develop channels to materialize various projects. The artists involved in Gazua are Anton Steenbock, Rafael Perez Evans andPablo Ferretti. All of them have studios at Despina, which serves as a spot for drawing up and implementing proposals.

Exhibition Gazua #945 is the second action of collective Gazua, which is formed by artists Anton Steenbock, Rafael Perez Evans and Pablo Ferretti. The role of this collective is to invite other artists to show their works. For this second exhibition, the invited artists are: Adriano Motta, Alexandre Colchete, Oliver Bulas, Pedro Victor Brandão and Zé Carlos Garcia.

The first exhibition of the platform Gazua – Gazua #947 – also took place at Despina in 2015, and the invited artists were: Andrew de Freitas,Opavivará! collective and Ricardo Càstro.
