Renato Pera: Vazão – 25th Gentle Wall

For each edition of Gentle Wall project, an artist and a supporter-collector of the gallery are invited to create a special work which is realized on the external wall of A Gentil Carioca, where it remains exhibited for four months. For the 25th edition, artist Renato Pera (b. 1984, São Paulo) created the installation Vazão, with the support of Juan Carlos Verme and Joel Yass.

Renato Pera is a multimedia artist graduated in Visual Arts at the University of São Paulo. He is interested in the intersection of languages and disciplines, including architectural and public interventions. He was awarded with the Prêmio Programa Rede Nacional Funarte Artes Visuais (2012), and distinguished by the Jury of the 6th Encontro de Artes Plásticas de Atibaia (São Paulo, 2007). Pera is an unquiet proposer of works performed in public spaces such as the project “Vitrinas – MASP / Metrô de São Paulo”, that allows the occupation of the showcases in the subway station Trianon-MASP with interventions by contemporary artists; other than conceiving and inaugurating the program, <strong>Pera</strong> coordinates the exhibition of works of other artists. He has presented solo shows and took part in several group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, other than participating in artistic residency programs as the Red Bull House of Arts (São Paulo, 2011) and the Programa de Residencias Artísticas Para Creadores de Iberoamérica y Haití en México (2010).
