Sabrina Mezzaqui with Elisa Biagini: c’è qui nell’aria la parola-ramo

A meeting between poetry and visual art

Hotel St. Regis, Via Vittorio E. Orlando 3, Rome, Italy

Galleria Continua hosts a new exhibition project  in Rome at the historic Hotel St.Regis: “c’è qui nell’aria la parola-ramo” by Sabrina Mezzaqui with Elisa Biagini. In this exhibition, visual arts and poetry are closely related, where the word takes a central and decisive place in the viewer’s perspective.

Both artists give weight to the meaning of the word and to the moral function that poetry and art have to play, Sabrina and Elisa are deeply connected and the relationship that arises from this encounter is materialized in the works that populate the gallery spaces.

Sabrina uses everyday materials such as postcards, business cards, chocolate wrappers and through meticulous and repeated gestures, borrowed from craftsmanship, she creates her works of art that communicate calm and tranquillity, bringing the audience closer to meditation.

The verses displayed by Biagini welcome the visitor at the beginning of the exhibition. They belong to a collection of imaginary dialogues by two great authors from different times and countries: Emily Dickinson and Paul Celan.
