Lina Bo Bardi’s MASP Sketches: 50 Years of the Museum at Paulista Avenue

The exhibition marks the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Paulista Avenue MASP (Sao Paulo Art Museum), on November 7, 1968. Since its origins, the museum became an icon of Brazilian culture and architecture both in the country and internationally. “Lina Bo Bardi’s MASP Sketches: 50 Years of the Museum at Paulista Avenue” constitutes a unique occasion for the public to discover archival materials from architect Lina Bo Bardi and her husband’s projects. Th exhibition, in fact, features  drawings, sketches, collages and photographs which document Lina Bo Bardi’s production process, related in particular with two elements that were never constructed: an helicoidal stair and the closed concrete facade.

The art show is part of the initiative Acervo Aberto—Open Archive, begun in 2017, to make available to the public lesser known materials related with the architect’s career.
