Siron Franco develops his works from an intense relationship with matter. The sullen air of the universe he created over his 50 years of activity incorporates satire and absurdity to address political and social issues. The exhibition “Em Nome de Deus (In The Name of God)” brings together 13 paintings that evoke the issue of religious disputes and the symbologies elaborated from them. Franco explores the human body’s representation in fragments or spectral images that give us access to the paradoxical relationship between sacredness and violence.
