Calder and Brazilian Art

Itaú Cultural, Avenida Paulista, 149, Bela Vista

Calder and Brazilian Art showcases the lightness, movement and color of the art of Alexander Calder (1898-1976), as disseminated in our artistic imagery and its relation with Brazilian art starting in the 1950s.

Curated by Luiz Camillo Osório, Itaú Cultural, in partnership with the Calder Foundation of New York and Expomus, the exhibition contains approximately 50 works, including mobiles, gouaches, models and oil paintings by the American artist, alongside works by great artists such as Abraham Palatnik, Lygia Clark, Lygia Pape, Waltércio Caldas, Antonio Manuel, Ernesto Neto and Franklin Cassaro.
