China: Tradição e Modernidade

The exhibition China: Tradição e Modernidade [China: Tradition and Modernity] celebrates the 11th anniversary of FAAP’s Confucius Institute, and gathers 34 selected images from the photo collection of Xinhua News, the country’s most important newspaper.

The selection reveals how the Chinese culture keeps its tradition, despite its unceasing growth and the adoption of some aspects of the western modernity, that can be seen both in the city as in the Chinese people lifestyle. The images portrayed scenes like a Starbucks in Chinese style, a modern dance happening at the ancient wall Xi’An, elderly connected to the internet in the villages of Fujian, a traditional dragon boat inside a shopping centre in Hong Kong, among others. 

The exhibition is presented by the Instituto Confúcio para Negócios FAAP [FAAP Confucius’ Institute for Business], and the Xinhua News Agency, in collaboration with the Museu de Arte Brasileira da FAAP (MAB-FAAP).
