Duda Penteado: Raízes e Fragmentos – Uma Viagem ao Território Mental

Museu Afro Brasil, Pedro Alvares Cabral Ave, Parque Ibirapuera

Duda Penteado (b. 1968, São Paulo) works with performance, video installation, mural painting, sculpture and painting to explore themes that have relevance for the 21st century, such as globalization, diaspora, double citizenship, and others.

He sees Raízes e Fragmentos – Uma Viagem ao Território Mental [Roots and Fragments – A Journey to the Mental Territory] as an opening of a universal space for Brazilian territoriality by working with the recovery of the voluntary unconscious, reconstructing history through the juxtaposition of this lost memory with references, symbols and signs that are part of the artist’s identity.

This show, along the other two exhibitions that open on October 23rd, celebrates the museum’s 11th anniversary.
