Dudu Santos: Nada É Verdade Mas Tudo É Real

For his third solo show at Galeria Jaqueline Martins, Dudu Santos (b. 1943, São Paulo) gathers recent artist books, other than paintings, objects in ceramics and drawings created throughout his 50 years of artistic career.

Santos’ production is marked by an enigmatic character due to its nature of constant transformation. The artist understands painting as an act, a search for an actual reality that, according to curator Francisco Salas, doesn’t follow an intention, a system, a style or a message. His artist books, by their turn, establish complex discourses that surpass the pictorial work, creating a dialogue with other periods of his artistic trajectory.
