Elizabeth Jobim and Ester Grinspum

Together with the opening of the next edition of SP-Arte, Raquel Arnaud Gallery opens simultaneous shows with two artists who participated in the iconic exhibition “Como vai você, Geração 80?“, held in 1984 at Escola de Artes do Parque do Lage in Rio de Janeiro. The downstairs space will be occupied by Arranjo (Arrangement), by Elizabeth Jobim, who returns to the gallery after seven years. On the first floor with Fausto, Ester Grinspum makes his debut in the team of artists, working along Raquel Arnaud.

The carioca artist Elizabeth Jobim brings to São Paulo three series of recent work. The show Arranjo consists of works that raise a discussion about the nature of pictorial space, exploring their physical dimensions and blurring the boundaries between painting, sculpture and installation. In Blocos, series first shown in 2013 at MAM-Rio.

In Parede, the series started in 2014 that will have an edition made especially for this exhibition with approximately 60 pieces, the artist proposes an assembly, which combines paintings and various objects, such as wood and notebook pieces. Finally, Elizabeth Jobim presents Tabletes, an unprecedented series of 15 works that incorporate this universe different materials such as plaster, cement and stone and are arranged on the floor of the gallery.
