Fulvio Nanni: Pioneers of Brazilian Design
For the third edition of the series Pioneers of Brazilian Design, the Museu da Casa Brasileira (MCB) explores the work of Fulvio Nanni (1952 – 1995), a precursor in Brazilian authorial design in the 1980s. The homage includes the panel Pioneers of Brazilian Design: Fulvio Nanni and an exhibition of furniture pieces and original drawings from Nanni Movelaria (1981 – 1995).
The exhibition panel feature information and images of Fulvio Nanni alongside a showcase with the bedside table Tridzio, that received the Highlight Award at the 1st MCB Design Award (1986). The retrospective of Nanni Movelaria, by its turn, presents tables, chairs, stands and shelves that allude to the store, plus emblematic pieces by the designer, such as the armchair Sand and the chair Raio 23, reedited since 2005 by the company DPOT.
Protagonist in the development and consolidation of national design, Fulvio Nanni received his first homage by MCB in 1997, with a retrospective exhibition.
