This exhibition curated by Claudio Mubarac brings together twelve works by engraver Oswaldo Goeldi (1895 – 1961) and twenty eight by Evandro Carlos Jardim(1935).

Goeldi spent his childhood in Pará (northern Brazil) and moved with his family to Switzerland in 1902; he came back to Brazil in 1919, getting settled in Rio de Janeiro, where he spent the rest of life. He’s one of most renowned Brazilian engravers, creator of a particular and sophisticated language of expressive and dark traits, specially in woodcuts.

Evandro Carlos Jardim, from São Paulo, works with engraving, drawings and painting. He’s specialised in metal engraving with aqua fortis. His production constantly focus São Paulo’s urban scenery.
