Lia D Castro: Everywhere and Nowhere
“Lia D Castro: Everywhere and Nowhere” marks the artist’s first solo museum exhibition, showcasing 36 works created between 2013 and 2024. The exhibition comprises paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, and installations, highlighting Castro’s exploration of race, class, and gender dynamics in intimate and vulnerable moments.
Her principal series, “Axs nossxs filhxs” (To Our Children), is the product of a collaborative process that emphasises diverse family configurations beyond conventional norms.
The title “Everywhere and Nowhere” reflects the marginalisation of minoritised groups in leadership roles while acknowledging their fundamental societal contributions. Curated by Glaucea Helena de Britto and Isabella Rjeille, the exhibition forms part of MASP’s Queer Histories programme.
