Lucas Simões: Ressaca

Lucas Simões‘ work is highly influenced by his architectural and design background. Over the years, Simões has experimented working with a wide range of materials: maps, books, photographs, concrete, silicon, wax and paper. The artist processes the materials in different ways: burning, cutting, layering, reshaping, diluting or distorting them. For his first show at Casa Triângulo, entitled “Ressaca”, Lucas Simões presents two new groups of sculptures along with an original installation composed by metal panels which totally redesign gallery’s spaces, creating new itineraries. All his production arise from his investigation of the relation between poetry and sculpture.
