The “In Your Face” exhibition – shown at Boston’s Fine Arts Museum in 2012 and in the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) in 2014 – is an intimate and provocative vision of the different aspects of Testino‘s work. It shows several of his most daring pictures, giving the viewer a privileged vision of his world through 120 images handpicked by him.
The work selection represents the idea of a collection with drawn from a museum where different artists and genres are exhibited together. A wide array of works from the photographer’s career will be presented, carefully not overlapping one style over another, creating contrasts and provocative contradictions.
Testino has established the order of the works, positioning formal portraits with intimate snapshots, nudes and fashion, black and white and color, framed images and engravings fixed directly on the walls.
His unique style and intuitive ability to capture moments creating emotional connections, made of Mário Testino one of the most known photographers in the world. “In Your Face” gather works which combine key elements from contemporary culture, inviting the visitor to enter an aesthetically beautiful world of glamour, sensuality and sophistication.
