Michel Zózimo: Animal, Pedra, Monstro e Outras Qualidades do Sonho

Since 2008, Zózimo (b. 1977, Brazil) has been developing the multimedia project Fluxorama, by manipulation of illustrations found in ancient scientific encyclopaedias, specially the ones that depict meteorites, rare diseases, medical experiments, planets, caves, volcanoes, mountains, the bottom of the ocean, rocks, animals and plants.

For this show, the artist presents a series of collages, drawings, objects and fabrics that revolve around the book “The science of the dream”, written in 1890 by German doctor Hans Kunstfield. Born in 1977, Zózimo holds a PhD in Visual Poetics and is a professor at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.
