Nelson Felix: OOCO

First retrospective of the artist, OOCO gathers pieces created between 1987 and 2015, comprising drawings, sculptures, installations, photographs and videos specially produced for the show, curated by Taisa Palhares and Rodrigo Naves. One of the highlights is the piece “Eu Vi a América com os Olhos d’Dele”, in which Felix started working in 2001 and will now be exhibited for the first time.

Nelson Felix (b. 1954, Rio de Janeiro) started his artistic career in the 1980s, with drawings made with graphite and diamond. His production deals with sculpture in a broad sense, approaching the relations between art, culture and nature. The pieces related to the environment will be presented in the exhibition through documentary videos created from photographs by the artist.

The exhibition is completed by a catalogue, which also comprehends pieces that are not included in the show, some historic articles, new texts from the curators and a documented chronology.
