Paralelos (Psicotrópicos)

Paralelos (Psicotrópicos) [Parallels (Psychotropic)], by William Zarella Jr. and Alvise Camozzi comprises an installation and a performance, presented every Friday during the exhibition period, at 9:00 pm. The installation, created by Zarella Jr. is composed of wax sculptures. During the performances, the pieces are dislocated from their usual places, both physically and with a change in discourse, creating a continuous process of resignification both of the performed narrative as of the sculptures themselves.

The project integrates a research process initiated with the prize Fomento ao Teatro of the city of São Paulo, that also comprises the sound path “Tresirmas soundscape” (presented at Sesc Ipiranga and at the Festival Música Estranha) and the happening “Natureza Morta para Laura”, which took place within the exhibition “Máquina Tadeusz Kantor” (Sesc Consolação, 2015). These two realizations are signed by the artistic collective Società Anonima dei Lavoratori del Mare, in which Zarella Jr. and Camozzi participate.
