Patricio Farías: As Desauras de Patricio Farías

The Chilean artist based in Brazil, exhibits in his first solo exhibition sculptures, installations and photographic montages, offering a comprehensive selection of his extensive artistic production from the 1980s to the present day.

Using artisanal techniques, Patricio Farías transforms materials such as wood, cloth, metals, lead and iron, into extremely creative forms, which play ironically with symbols and language and criticize the visual codes of consumer society and the insertion of art in this logic. The objects exhibited are winged or hybrid structures which recall Leonardo da Vinci’s artifacts or Duchamp’s works, with the aim to problematize the perceptual habits of the spectator.
