Polish Refuge at Bom Retiro

Polish artist/architect Jakub Szczesny, whose work over the last years deals with issues regarding minimal housing, builds a temporary home on the terrace of Casa do Povo.
The installation also functions as a temporary platform for collective reflexion on migration and refugee policies, questioning the cultural labels we are accustomed to dealing with through an intense program, involving live music, screenings and talks open to the public.
The project extends into a publication, the “Polish Guide to São Paulo”, counting
upon the participation of this heterogenous community in the construction of the city and its imagination, meanwhile questioning the label of being “polish” itself.
