Rafael França: In Between Media

In this exhibition curated by Helouise Costa, composed by a set of unpublished works, seeks to reveal that the photographic image had no autonomous existence for Rafael França (1957, Brazil – 1991, USA), that it worked as a liaison between different media.

The curator has been studying MAC’s collection on Rafael França ever since 1993, and presents, with this show, a never before seen approach to the artist’s production, focused on his experiences with the photographic language and its relations with video.
