Rodrigo Hernández: The Real World Does Not Take Flight

In his practice, Hernández deals with many languages such as drawing, painting, sculpture and installation in works that join formalism and the social history of the images and materials he uses. Beyond that, there is a central inquiry about the nature of art in his research.

His show is the outcome of Hernández’ two months residency at Pivô and consists of a seires of cardboard sculptures and an installation directly produced in the exhibition space as an immersive environment where geometric patterns painted on walls relate to the shapes of sculptures hanging on it.
